This last two weeks have been a little crazy in the Fontaine home! Christmas and New Years has come and gone and in a way I'm thankful to get back into the regular swing of things. Not that our holidays weren't great.. because they were but it was just busy!

We kicked off everything with spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Luke's family which was lovely! We also got to welcome Ashley, Carson's then girlfriend into our home once again which is always a treat for us. We spent a couple of days after Christmas preparing for Carson's proposal to Ashley which was fun and excitingl! I had the privilege to be asked to take pictures of them and to video the whole thing which was so fun for me. Everything went smoothly in the end and she said yes! I am really looking forward to having another sister join the family. :)

On the 29th of December we made our way to Taber, AB where my parents live to spend some time with them. We got there in the afternoon and in the evening we all went to see the new Star Wars movie which was awesome (even Luke enjoyed it. :P). The next day we made our way to Kimberley, BC where we go snowboarding and relax in the hot tub almost every year. It is absolutely stunning there but unfortunately this year I was not able to take advantage of the ski hills and the hot tub but it was a good time non the less which included wintry walks and relaxing on the couch. It was just nice to be in the midst of the mountains for a bit which I truly miss! All in all it was a great time with my family and being able to reconnect with them which is always really nice. I'm thankful that we could spend time with both sides of the family like we do every year.

Coming back and starting work this week was such a struggle for me as I am feeling very exhausted and just feeling over all drained. Being pregnant is sometimes hard and I find myself becoming a bit discouraged as I feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever! haha  Even through this time I still want to continue to be thankful for being able to carry our child to this point with no complications. I am extremely low risk and being able to conceive naturally is such a blessing.

I really wish I haven't procrastinated updating you all on my pregnancy since so much has happened in the last two weeks. The biggest change is that I feel the baby all the time! I started to feel consistent kicks at about 17 weeks and 2 days which is so exciting and reassuring to me. Every time I sit still for a little bit baby
starts to move. I have even seen baby move inside my belly which is so crazy. Every time I get Luke to try and feel the kicking it instantly stops. Baby doesn't seem to cooperate when we want it too! haha

I am currently 18 weeks and 3 days today and baby is the size of a sweet potato which is about 14.5 cm. I can't believe I am almost half way done! I definitely now have a pretty defined belly which means I look a little more pregnant and not as much bloated. I like that part haha we do have baby names picked out and are looking forward to finding out the gender in 5 days! We cannot wait. These names will be kept secret until the birth of course. :)
