Here we are! The last week of the first trimester; thirteen weeks! Baby Fontaine is 7.6cam long and the size of a peach. He or she even has their own fingerprints now! Amazing. After seeing our baby this past week I cannot wait to go to our next ultrasound which is only in a short 6 weeks. I've definitely made a countdown. :) This week I have found I'm a lot less moody and a lot more happy which is a good change. I also can feel my energy levels getting back up a little bit. Very thankful for this! Still, a nap in the afternoon still feels necessary. My little bump has definitely grown a bit more this week and when I look down I can tell it's all baby. I've also noticed most of my cravings lately are all salty foods which is interesting. Nothing super weird lie pickles and ice cream though. :) I think after seeing our child I have enjoyed being pregnant a little more. Since my little bump has formed it reminds me that no matter what I'm doing I always have a little
Today I had one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Me and Luke got to go to my first ultrasound and see our little one for the first time. It was pretty surreal as I laid down on the table and pulled my shirt up to expose my belly. I was expecting the gel to be cold like I had seen in movies and TV shows but they actually warm it up so it was really nice. Haha! I wasn't able to see the first part as the tech needed to take some measurements but Luke got to see our baby first and the expression on his face is something I'll always remember. His face looked so proud and amazed all at the same time. The first glimpse I got was of our baby's arm. It was all intact even showing bones and each tiny finger. It was like he or she was waving at us. :) To see the whole body, the face and even a little nose was so remarkable. The heart was beating at 159 beats per minute to be exact. We even got to see our baby swallow which was just amazing and I cannot wait to finally feel
I am currently 12 weeks and one day! I hope this isn't a trend.. me posting a day late every week! I definitely feel like my bump has popped a bit more this week then others instead of just being all bloat. Haha! The baby is as big as a large plum and is 6.4 cm long. Amazing that there is a little guy or girl squirming around in there. Tomorrow is also my first ultrasound and I am so excited! I cannot wait to see our little one and hear their heartbeat! Of course in the back of my mind I am a little but nervous as I hope everything is okay and baby is healthy but I know that God is in control. Look forward to a post tomorrow with some pictures! The past couple of days I have not been feeling the best as I have had some really dizzy spells. I'm not nauseous but feeling like I'm about to pass out. This is a result of more blood being pushed towards my baby instead of the rest of my body as it normally would. Plus maintaining a normal blood sugar also contributes to this s
I've had this blog since I was in high school, but decided a couple of years ago to delete all my posts and start fresh. I can understand why as most of them were severely embarrassing. Haha! I started to blog again about three weeks after me and Luke got married. So, today I thought it would be a good idea and read all of my posts since then... To my surprise I did not feel embarrassed or feel the need to delete any of them. They actually encouraged me. The struggles and challenges I have gone through in the past two and a bit years have shown me just how much my Heavenly Father has carried me through; with out me even really knowing it. In those moments of hopelessness he planted seeds in my mind of his plan for my life. That he has a future for me, a future that has been made to honor the name of Jesus. In this moment as I sit here quietly, I can remember the times when I have felt the most joy and purpose; it is when I am in absolute awe of my Savior and the grace he has lav
Hello! I am currently writing this post from our new place! Me and Luke are so happy with our new to us rental suite and are starting to settle down as we moved all of our things this past weekend. I am so thankful for Luke and all who helped us move our stuff. I am wanting to be cautious and not lift anything too heavy and Luke really went above and beyond to compensate for me taking it easy. He is my hero with hardly uttering a single complaint. :)  I went and cleaned our old suite tonight and definitely shed a couple of tears. It has been home to us for over two years and it is hard to move on. We absolutely loved our landlords who are the reason it was so hard to find a new place. Murray and Shannon are Luke's Uncle and Aunt and if you know them, you know they are the most gracious people you'll ever meet; plus their kids are adorable. :) They have been more than good to us and are absolutely irreplaceable! After these couple of days of packing, moving, trying to un
Today I am officially 10 weeks along! I am definitely seeing my body change already and my little bump is growing. He or she is the size of a prune, 3.8 cm long (according to my pregnancy app) and has been to moving around in there. Not that I can feel any movement yet.. I cannot wait for the day I feel our baby! Still no sickness but I am just hungry all the time and so very tired. Looking forward to getting that energy boost in the second trimester!
Pregnancy update! I think this will be a good idea to look back on the progress I make each week as this little bean grows inside of me. :) Me and Luke decided to announce we were expecting early into our pregnancy which most people don't do. We believe that life starts at conception and this baby is already so loved and cherished right from the start. No matter what the future brings we want to be able to have a support system around us. In this first picture I would have just found out I was pregnant. This picture was taken on Sept. 28th and I would have been 4 weeks and 1 day. Baby was only the size of a poppy seed. Very excited to start this journey to motherhood! In this second picture I am 8 weeks. Baby is the size of a large raspberry! This shirt might make me look like I am showing a bit more then I should be but there is a little tiny something forming inside there I know it. :) I have been very blessed to not be sick (yet) during my pregnancy. Two symptoms that I d
